There are some such anti-social elements among the businessmen of our country. Whose only motive is to earn profit, they are ready to tell even the biggest lies. In such a situation, big online platforms like Amazon give them opportunities from local to global.
Taking cognizance of this shocking news, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued a notice to Amazon for selling sweets by making misleading advertisements in the name of selling fake Prasad on Amazon.
This action was taken by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). This has been done on the basis of a complaint by the regulatory authority under the Central Government, alleging that Amazon is selling fake Prasad sweets in the name of Ram Mandir Prasad.
Looting and fraud are already going on in this country in the name of faith. In reality, online markets like Amazon merely act as a link between the customer and the shopkeeper.
Amazon allows sellers to use its online platform as per its policies and responsibility. Even before this, Amazon buyers have been charged with selling soap bars, stones, or empty boxes etc. and fake goods in the name of mobile.
This is the first time that in the name of Central Government programs and faith, customers are being cheated with the help of Amazon. According to sources, the consumer authority has sought a response within seven days on the sale of fake Prasad on Amazon. They warned that if it fails to respond, action will be taken against the company under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

The Consumer Protection Act prohibits ‘misleading advertising’ which gives false information about a product or service. On the other hand, Amazon said in a statement that the company is taking appropriate action as per its policies. An Amazon spokesperson said that we have been asked by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) regarding the investigation of misleading product claims and violations by some sellers.
The central authority said that such misleading information and information affects the customers. It is noteworthy that under Rule 4(3) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, no e-commerce entity can indulge in unfair trade practices.
